Job Description
Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years NICU RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
This opportunity is for an experienced RN with specialized skills in neonatal intensive care within a high-acuity Level III NICU setting. The role supports critically ill newborns including micro preemies (as early as 24 weeks gestation), high-acuity patients needing respiratory support, surgical cases, and grower-feeder infants above 44 weeks gestation. A thorough understanding of NICU care protocols and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment is essential. Location:This position is based in Elgin, IL, offering a dynamic clinical environment with access to advanced equipment and a collaborative care team dedicated to neonatal health. Responsibilities: Provide nursing care for Level III NICU patients, including micro preemies and high-acuity infants Monitor and manage respiratory support and surgical care needs Utilize Epic electronic charting system for accurate documentation Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive neonatal care Support units with floating to an adjacent campus if census requires flexibility Work every other weekend as part of the scheduling rotation Qualifications: Current Illinois RN license Minimum 2 years of NICU nursing experience, preferably in a Level III setting Certification in CPR and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Proficient with Epic charting system Experience working with infants requiring respiratory and surgical nursing care Schedule: 12-hour day shifts (7 a.m. to 7 p.m.) Every other weekend scheduled This is a contract role with availability to start within two weeks. Candidates should be prepared to float to an alternate campus location as needed.
