About Us

Welcome to Redstone Hall School, a vibrant new educational establishment in Ipswich! We cater to up to 30 pupils aged 5 to 18 with complex needs, providing a safe and supportive environment where every child is valued, respected, and empowered. Our holistic approach ensures that academic progress goes hand-in-hand with emotional well-being and personal growth.

Your Role

As our SENCO, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our students. Here’s what you’ll be doing:

  • Lead the strategic development of special educational needs (SEN) policy and provision.
  • Design and deliver targeted interventions to bridge attainment gaps.
  • Assess and monitor pupil progress in line with their EHCPs.
  • Conduct annual reviews and act as a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead.
  • Collaborate with multi-agency teams and lead on Early Help initiatives.
  • Support individual learning plans in partnership with the Headteacher, Tutors, and parents.
  • Maintain accurate records and provide guidance to colleagues on effective teaching strategies.
  • Oversee annual reviews and ensure appropriate professional involvement in pupil development.
  • Communicate regularly with parents and external agencies to support smooth transitions.
  • Promote inclusion and access to the curriculum and extracurricular activities.
  • Teach classes as needed, with a commitment to secondary teaching (50/50), preferably in Science.
What We’re Looking For
  • Qualified Teacher Status.
  • National Award for SEN Co-ordination, or a willingness to complete the new NPQ for SENCOs.
  • Experience in school self-evaluation and development planning.
  • Previous teaching experience in an autism/SEMH school.
  • Experience in delivering training and leading INSET.
  • Sound knowledge of the SEND Code of Conduct.
  • A commitment to professional development and a passion for learning.
