Job Description The Role As the Lead Design Release Engineer for the Integrated Center Stack (ICS) and the Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC), you will be at the forefront of our advanced infotainment systems. These components are critical customer interfaces and showcase cutting-edge styling integrated into our vehicles. In this high-impact role, you will collaborate extensively across various engineering disciplines ensuring a seamless integration of technology and design. Your responsibilities will also include managing the development of Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Controls and integrating the Front Passenger Infotainment (FPI) display - essential areas of our infotainment strategy. You'll work closely with teams spanning interior, HVAC, electrical, materials, as well as program teams, marketing, and manufacturing, ensuring that all requirements and deliverables are met with high standards of quality and on schedule. What You'll Do Create and refine Statements of Requirements (SOR) in collaboration with cross-functional teams. Collaborate with the Display team, focusing on instrument clusters and infotainment systems. Manage and update component-specific technical specifications. Oversee and track key program metrics, including cost, mass, and investment targets. Provide mentorship and technical guidance to supplier resident engineers and other Design Release Engineers. Lead Product Development Team (PDT) meetings, offering technical direction and ensuring alignment among members. Actively participate in studio activities to guide surface development as the engineering lead. Work with suppliers to establish and develop necessary execution criteria to support design goals. Collaborate with User Experience and Engineering teams to ensure desired material finishes and aesthetics. Communicate updates, challenges, and resolutions effectively across all organizational levels. Support development builds and launch activities through troubleshooting and retrofits. Oversee all component validation activities, ensuring issues are resolved by set milestones. Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications) Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering. A minimum of 5 years’ engineering experience in electronic or styled infotainment components. Strong analytical skills to tackle complex problems. Creative and proactive in decision-making processes. Proven experience leading cross-functional teams focused on styled components. Experience troubleshooting fit/finish issues during manufacturing launches. Knowledge of vehicle data communications systems, including CAN, LVDS, LIN, and ETHERNET. Familiarity with applicable vehicle safety standards. In-depth understanding of the requirements engineering process, including FMEA and DFSS methodologies. Skills in Design Engineering, particularly with UniGraphics or related CAD tools. Knowledge of the verification and validation processes at various levels. Experience managing multiple vehicle programs simultaneously.
