About the role

The BIM/VDC Specialist manages the flow of all project information, ensuring Building Information Models (BIM) are accurate, compliant with standards and contractual requirements, and properly maintained within the Common Data Environment (CDE). This role ensures all stakeholders have timely access to current, validated, and well‑documented information to support efficient project delivery and long‑term facility management.

In addition, this role oversees the organization’s technical and quality documentation systems. Responsibilities include ensuring accurate and timely document control, maintaining compliance with applicable standards, and providing accessible documentation to engineering, production, and quality teams. The specialist also routes documents for required approvals and supports an efficient, compliant, and well‑organized document control process.

Your responsibilities

  • Coordinate BIM strategy and execution by supporting BEP/EIR development, maintaining data standards and workflows, and ensuring BIM deliverables from internal teams and contractors meet site and regulatory requirements.
  • Audit BIM models and documentation for compliance with BEP, ISO 19650, and site standards; perform clash detection, resolve issues, and verify accuracy and formatting of all incoming BIM files.
  • Manage information exchange across platforms (IFC, COBie), lead BIM/document control meetings, and maintain all controlled documents in the CDE with proper version control, archiving, and secure access.
  • Create, update, and quality‑check technical, supplier, and validation documents; review RFQs and datasheets for completeness; compile project dossiers and construction files; and process, scan, and file documentation.
  • Administer document control systems, implement process improvements, generate status/compliance reports, support internal/external audits, and serve as the main point of contact for document inquiries across Engineering, Production, and Quality.

The experience we're looking for

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, IT, or a related field (preferred).
  • 5+ years of experience in BIM, engineering, or architecture, including document control and information management.
  • Experience with document management in factory operations, maintenance, or capital projects.
  • Familiarity with pharmaceutical, food & beverage, or healthcare manufacturing environments.
  • Understanding of project execution lifecycles and experience driving results across diverse technical teams.

The skills for success

  • Proficiency with BIM tools such as Revit and Navisworks , and cloud collaboration platforms (e.g., Autodesk Construction Cloud).
  • Strong working knowledge of electronic document management systems and data analysis tools.
  • Familiarity with ISO 19650 , LOD standards, and industry documentation protocols.
  • Strong attention to detail with solid analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and cross‑functional coordination abilities.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet tight deadlines.

US salary ranges

USD $88,000.00 -  $132,000.00

The base salary range for this role will vary based on experience in job and industry, training and education, skills relevant to the position, and other factors permitted by law.
