We are seeking skilled and safety-conscious Forklift Operators for our facility in Tampa, Florida. As a Forklift Operator, you will play a vital role in our warehouse operations, ensuring the efficient and secure movement of materials throughout our logistics network. Your responsibilities will include operating forklifts to load and unload trailers, relocating inventory within the warehouse, and staging goods for shipment. A strong emphasis on safety is paramount, and you must demonstrate a thorough understanding of safe operating procedures and the importance of using appropriate PPE. You will work closely with a dedicated team, contributing to daily operational goals and maintaining a clean and orderly work environment. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload materials from trucks and trailers.
- Transport goods to and from designated areas within the warehouse, including storage, production, and shipping zones.
- Perform pre-shift inspections of forklift equipment and report any defects or maintenance needs.
- Follow all established safety rules and regulations, including proper material handling techniques.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring clear pathways and adherence to safety guidelines.
- Assist in receiving and put-away processes, ensuring accuracy and proper placement of inventory.
- Stage orders for shipment and ensure they are ready for outbound logistics.
- Accurately track and record movement of goods as required by the Warehouse Management System.
- Wear all mandated PPE, such as safety shoes, gloves, and eye protection, consistently.
- Participate in all safety training and uphold safety standards related to lifting and material handling.
- Identify and report any potential hazards or unsafe practices to supervisors.
Qualifications:
Must hold a valid forklift certification and have demonstrable experience operating various types of forklifts. A strong understanding of warehouse safety protocols and procedures is required. Ability to perform routine equipment checks and report issues promptly. Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds and performing physical tasks associated with warehouse work. Excellent spatial awareness and attention to detail. Must be reliable, punctual, and have a strong work ethic. Familiarity with logistics and inventory management systems is a plus. Commitment to wearing and maintaining PPE is mandatory. Ability to work in a fast-paced, demanding environment. Must be able to work flexible hours, including potential overtime and weekends. Strong communication skills.
Working Conditions:
Work is performed in a warehouse environment which may experience temperature fluctuations. Continuous adherence to safety protocols is expected, including the mandatory use of provided PPE. The role involves operating heavy machinery and may require occasional manual lifting. Safety training will be provided, emphasizing safe lifting and material handling practices within our logistics operations.
