We are seeking a skilled and experienced Forklift Operator to join our logistics team in San Antonio, Texas. In this essential role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of forklifts to move, load, and unload materials within our warehouse facility. Your duties will include transporting goods to and from storage areas, loading and unloading trucks, and stacking inventory at appropriate locations. Maintaining a clean and organized work environment, adhering strictly to safety regulations, and performing daily equipment checks are critical aspects of this position. We are committed to a high standard of safety, and all operators must consistently wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and follow established safety protocols. The ideal candidate will possess a valid forklift certification, a strong understanding of warehouse operations, and a proven track record of safe operation. This role requires physical dexterity, excellent spatial awareness, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced logistics setting. We value reliability and a proactive approach to ensuring operational efficiency.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts (sit-down, stand-up) safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload materials from trucks and trailers.
- Transport goods to and from designated storage areas.
- Stack and organize inventory according to warehouse layout.
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance on forklift equipment.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures.
- Wear required PPE, including safety shoes, hard hat, and high-visibility vest.
- Assist with inventory management and cycle counts.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards immediately.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid forklift operator certification (e.g., OSHA compliant).
- Proven experience operating various types of forklifts.
- Knowledge of warehouse safety standards and procedures.
- Ability to perform manual lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Strong attention to detail and spatial awareness.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Familiarity with logistics and inventory control systems is a plus.
