We are hiring a skilled Forklift Operator for our key distribution center located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania! In this vital role, you will be responsible for operating a forklift to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise. Your efficiency and accuracy are crucial for maintaining inventory control and supporting the overall logistics operations of our facility. This position demands a keen awareness of safety protocols, excellent maneuvering skills, and a strong understanding of warehouse procedures. You will work in a dynamic environment, ensuring materials are moved safely and efficiently to their designated locations. We are committed to a safe working environment; therefore, all forklift operators must adhere to stringent safety guidelines, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). This role requires a high degree of responsibility and the ability to perform physical tasks, including regular lifting. Responsibilities:
- Safely operate forklifts to move palletized loads, raw materials, and finished goods.
- Load and unload trucks, ensuring proper weight distribution and stability.
- Transport materials to and from storage areas, production lines, and shipping docks.
- Perform routine inspections of forklift equipment and report any maintenance needs.
- Assist with inventory counts and cycle counting procedures.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to 5S principles.
- Follow all company safety policies and wear required PPE at all times.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Valid forklift operator certification.
- Proven experience as a forklift operator in a warehouse or logistics environment.
- Excellent knowledge of forklift operating procedures and safety regulations.
- Ability to perform lifting tasks as needed (up to 50 pounds).
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Familiarity with safety best practices and the use of PPE.
