We are looking for a meticulous Receiving Clerk to join our logistics team in Chicago, Illinois. This role is pivotal in ensuring that all incoming goods are accurately documented, inspected, and processed into our inventory system. You will be responsible for managing delivery schedules, verifying shipments against purchase orders, and handling any discrepancies. A keen eye for detail, organizational skills, and a strong commitment to safety are essential. The ideal candidate will have experience in a warehouse or distribution environment and understand the importance of accurate record-keeping for efficient logistics operations. You will be a key point of contact for delivery drivers and internal departments.
Responsibilities:
- Receive and log all incoming shipments, verifying contents against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Inspect goods for damage, shortages, or discrepancies, and report findings immediately.
- Document all receiving activities accurately in the warehouse management system (WMS).
- Coordinate with shipping companies and carriers to schedule deliveries and resolve issues.
