We are seeking a detail-oriented Shipping Clerk to join our team in Washington, D.C. As a vital member of our **Logistics** department, you will be responsible for the accurate and efficient processing of all outgoing shipments. Your duties will include verifying order details, packaging products securely, generating shipping labels, and coordinating with carrier services. This role requires a high level of organization, precision, and a commitment to timely delivery. You will work closely with other warehouse staff to ensure smooth operational flow and excellent customer service. Maintaining a clean and organized shipping area is also a key responsibility. We are dedicated to providing a safe working environment, and adherence to all **Safety** protocols, including the mandatory use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), is paramount. The position may involve moderate **Lifting** and moving of packages. Responsibilities:
- Accurately verify outgoing orders against shipping documents.
- Package items safely and appropriately for transit.
- Create and apply shipping labels with correct destination and tracking information.
- Schedule and coordinate pickups with various shipping carriers.
- Maintain accurate records of all shipments processed.
- Keep the shipping area clean, organized, and well-stocked.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
- Strictly follow all company **Safety** policies and procedures, including the use of PPE .
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in shipping, logistics, or a related field is preferred.
- Familiarity with shipping software and common carrier systems.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to perform tasks requiring consistent **Lifting** of up to 40 pounds.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Team-oriented with good communication skills.
- Commitment to upholding high **Safety** standards and wearing required PPE .
