We are recruiting a skilled Material Handler for our large-scale logistics hub in Chicago, Illinois. In this critical role, you will manage the flow of materials within the warehouse, ensuring that products are moved, stored, and organized efficiently and safely. Your responsibilities will include operating forklifts and other material handling equipment, loading and unloading trucks, moving inventory to and from storage areas, and assisting with order fulfillment. This is a hands-on position that requires a strong understanding of warehouse operations and a commitment to safety. You will be a vital part of our logistics chain, ensuring smooth operations and timely processing of goods. Maintaining a safe and organized work environment is essential. Continuous professional development and training on the latest equipment and safety standards will be provided to all team members.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and proficiently.
- Load and unload materials from trucks and trailers.
- Transport materials to and from designated storage areas.
- Assist in organizing inventory and maintaining stock rotation.
- Perform routine checks on equipment to ensure proper functioning.
- Adhere strictly to all safety regulations and guidelines.
- Support the picking and packing teams as needed.
- Participate in regular inventory cycle counts.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role.
- Valid forklift certification is required.
- Demonstrated ability to operate various types of material handling equipment.
- Physical capability to lift heavy objects and perform strenuous tasks.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse safety procedures and best practices.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
- Willingness to wear appropriate PPE at all times.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Understanding of logistics and supply chain processes is preferred.
- Ability to handle lifting up to 60 lbs.
