Join our growing facility in Des Moines, Iowa, as a Shipping & Receiving Associate. This multifaceted role is responsible for the efficient processing of all incoming and outgoing shipments. You will manage the receiving dock, ensure accurate documentation of received goods, and prepare outgoing shipments for carriers. Your attention to detail and organizational skills are crucial for maintaining inventory accuracy and supporting our overall Logistics network. We are committed to providing a secure and safe work environment, including all necessary PPE .
Responsibilities:
- Receive incoming shipments, verify contents against packing slips and purchase orders, and inspect for damage.
- Accurately document all received goods using the warehouse management system (WMS).
- Prepare outgoing shipments, including picking, packing, labeling, and staging.
- Coordinate with shipping carriers to schedule pickups and deliveries.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and assist with cycle counts.
- Operate pallet jacks and other material handling equipment safely.
- Keep the shipping and receiving areas clean, organized, and hazard-free.
- Adhere to all company Safety protocols, including the proper use of PPE .
- Ensure efficient Logistics flow by timely processing of all inbound and outbound shipments.
- Perform tasks involving Lifting and moving of goods as required.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse operations is preferred.
- Proficiency with WMS and shipping software.
- Strong organizational skills and keen attention to detail.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including frequent standing, walking, and Lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Understanding of warehouse Safety procedures and commitment to using PPE .
- Basic knowledge of Logistics and supply chain principles.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
