We are looking for a diligent and energetic Material Handler to join our growing logistics operation in Richmond, Virginia. In this role, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks related to the movement and handling of materials within the warehouse. This includes loading and unloading shipments, organizing inventory, and preparing orders for dispatch. Your attention to detail and commitment to safety will be key to success in this position. This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a vital link in the supply chain.
Responsibilities:
- Receive, unload, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders.
- Sort, label, and store materials in designated warehouse locations.
- Pick, pack, and stage orders for outgoing shipments, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Operate material handling equipment such as pallet jacks and hand trucks safely.
- Maintain inventory accuracy through diligent record-keeping and cycle counting.
- Assist with loading trucks for outbound deliveries.
- Ensure all work areas are clean, organized, and hazard-free, adhering to strict safety regulations.
- Properly use required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Support team members with various logistics tasks as needed.
- Be prepared for physically demanding tasks, including frequent lifting of up to 50 lbs.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a warehouse or material handling role preferred.
- Familiarity with basic logistics and warehouse procedures.
- A strong focus on safety and a willingness to follow all safety guidelines, including the correct use of PPE.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Good physical condition with the capacity for sustained lifting and manual labor.
- Team-oriented with good communication skills.
