Are you an experienced and safety-conscious Forklift Operator looking for a rewarding opportunity in Tampa, Florida? We are hiring dedicated individuals to operate forklifts and other material handling equipment in our fast-paced distribution center. This role is essential for the efficient movement of goods within our logistics network. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of safe operation, a strong understanding of warehouse procedures, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. You will be responsible for loading and unloading trucks, moving inventory to and from storage areas, and ensuring that all operations are conducted in accordance with safety regulations. We provide a supportive work environment where safety is our top priority, and comprehensive training on proper PPE and equipment operation is provided. This position involves frequent lifting and requires physical stamina.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely operate forklifts (sit-down, stand-up, electric) and other warehouse equipment.
- Load and unload materials from trucks, trailers, and containers.
- Transport materials to and from designated areas within the warehouse.
- Stack and organize materials in appropriate storage locations.
- Perform routine inspections and basic maintenance on forklifts and equipment.
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and company policies.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Assist with inventory counts and other warehouse tasks as needed.
- Ensure efficient flow of goods within the logistics chain.
- Identify and report any safety hazards or equipment malfunctions.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Valid forklift operator certification or willingness to obtain one.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience operating forklifts in a warehouse environment.
- Demonstrated knowledge of warehouse operations and safety procedures.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet productivity goals.
- Physical ability to perform tasks requiring lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Must be able to wear required PPE, including safety shoes and vests.
- Familiarity with logistics and material handling principles.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Must pass a background check and drug screening.
