We are seeking a skilled Material Handler to join our dynamic logistics team in Durham, North Carolina. As a Material Handler, you will be responsible for the movement, storage, and tracking of materials throughout our facility. Your duties will include operating forklifts and other material handling equipment, receiving and dispatching goods, organizing inventory, and ensuring the safe and efficient flow of products. The ideal candidate is experienced, safety-oriented, and possesses a strong understanding of warehouse operations and logistics. You will play a key role in maintaining optimal inventory levels and supporting our production and shipping departments. We prioritize a safe working environment and require strict adherence to safety protocols, including the proper use of PPE.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment to move raw materials and finished goods.
- Receive, unload, and inspect incoming shipments, verifying against documentation.
- Store materials in designated locations, ensuring proper organization and inventory control.
- Pick and stage materials for production lines or outgoing shipments.
- Load and unload trucks efficiently and safely.
- Conduct regular inventory checks and assist with cycle counts.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work area.
- Adhere to all company safety regulations and procedures, including the proper use of PPE.
- Ensure timely and accurate movement of materials to support logistics operations.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to optimize material flow and efficiency.
- Previous experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse/logistics role is required.
- Proficiency in operating forklifts and other material handling equipment (certification preferred).
- Strong understanding of warehouse management systems and logistics principles.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including frequent bending, stooping, and standing for extended periods.
- Must be able to perform frequent Lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Commitment to workplace safety and the correct utilization of PPE.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Reliable and punctual.
