We are seeking a meticulous Receiving Clerk to join our logistics team in Minneapolis, Minnesota. In this critical role, you will be the first point of contact for all incoming goods, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in our receiving processes. Your responsibilities will include unloading shipments, verifying contents against purchase orders, inspecting for damage, and properly documenting all received items. A strong eye for detail and organizational skills are paramount. This position is essential to maintaining accurate inventory levels and ensuring the smooth flow of products into our warehouse. We are committed to a safe working environment and require adherence to all safety protocols, including the correct use of PPE. Your diligence in this role directly impacts our supply chain.
Responsibilities:
- Unload incoming freight from trucks efficiently and safely.
- Verify contents of shipments against purchase orders and packing slips, noting any discrepancies.
- Inspect goods for damage, quality issues, and proper specifications.
- Accurately document all received items into the inventory management system.
- Tag and label incoming inventory for proper storage.
- Communicate effectively with vendors and internal departments regarding receiving discrepancies or issues.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe receiving area.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of required PPE.
- Operate material handling equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts (training provided).
- Assist with inventory put-away as needed.
- Previous experience in a receiving, warehouse, or logistics role is highly preferred.
- Proficiency in using inventory management software and scanning equipment.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including frequent bending, stooping, and standing for extended periods.
- Must be able to perform moderate Lifting, up to 50 lbs.
- Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
- Understanding of warehouse operations and supply chain logistics.
- Commitment to workplace safety and the correct utilization of PPE.
- Good communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
