We are looking for a reliable and energetic Picker/Packer to join our fast-paced logistics operations in Washington, D.C. In this vital role, you will be instrumental in preparing customer orders for shipment. Your duties will involve accurately picking specified items from warehouse inventory and then carefully packing them to ensure they arrive safely at their destination. This position requires a high level of attention to detail, the ability to work efficiently under pressure, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety. You will work closely with a team to meet daily shipping targets and contribute to the smooth flow of goods through our distribution center. We emphasize a safe working environment and provide necessary training and PPE.
Responsibilities:
- Efficiently pick products from warehouse shelves based on customer orders and pick lists.
- Inspect items for damage and ensure they match order specifications.
- Pack orders securely and accurately, selecting appropriate packaging materials.
- Label packages correctly for shipping.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, ensuring all materials are readily accessible.
- Adhere strictly to all safety guidelines, including the correct use of PPE, to prevent injuries.
- Operate hand trucks and other manual equipment for moving goods.
- Assist with inventory management tasks, such as cycle counts and put-away.
- Collaborate with team members to achieve daily productivity goals.
- Report any discrepancies or issues to a supervisor immediately.
- Prior experience as a Picker/Packer or in a similar warehouse role is preferred.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting order forms or using scanning equipment.
- Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods.
- Must be capable of frequently Lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Understanding of logistics and warehouse procedures.
- Commitment to workplace safety and the correct utilization of PPE.
- Team player with good communication skills.
