We are seeking an experienced Forklift Operator to join our dedicated team at a busy distribution center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. This role is critical to our logistics operations, ensuring the efficient and safe movement of goods throughout our facility. Your responsibilities will include operating a forklift to transport materials, load and unload trucks, and assist with inventory management. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of safe operation, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced warehouse environment. You will be responsible for performing daily equipment checks and adhering to all safety regulations to prevent accidents and injuries. This position requires physical stamina, including the ability to perform regular lifting of items up to 50 lbs. Key Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload materials from trucks and trailers.
- Transport goods to and from designated storage areas.
- Assist with receiving, stocking, and order picking processes.
- Perform routine maintenance checks on forklifts and report any defects.
- Maintain accurate inventory records.
- Adhere to all safety protocols, including the use of PPE.
- Ensure the secure and stable stacking of all materials.
- Contribute to maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Support overall logistics operations as directed.
Qualifications:
- Certified forklift operator with demonstrable experience.
- Proven ability to operate various types of forklifts safely and proficiently.
- Experience in a warehouse or logistics setting is required.
- Ability to perform consistent lifting of up to 50 lbs.
- Solid understanding of warehouse safety standards and logistics best practices.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Must be reliable, punctual, and possess a strong work ethic.
- Willingness to wear required PPE at all times.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
