We are hiring experienced Forklift Operators to join our busy facility in San Jose, California. This is a crucial role in our logistics operations, ensuring the safe and efficient movement of goods within our warehouse. You will be responsible for operating forklifts to load and unload trucks, move materials between different areas of the warehouse, and assist with stocking and retrieving inventory. A strong commitment to safety is essential, as is the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. You will work collaboratively with other warehouse associates and supervisors to meet production targets and maintain a clean and organized workspace. Familiarity with various types of forklifts and attachments is a plus. This role requires a keen awareness of surroundings and adherence to all safety protocols to prevent accidents and ensure the well-being of yourself and others. Responsibilities:
- Safely operate forklifts to move, stack, load, and unload materials and products.
- Inspect forklifts daily to ensure they are in good working condition and report any maintenance issues.
- Follow all safety procedures and company guidelines for forklift operation and material handling.
- Transport goods from receiving areas to storage locations and from storage to shipping docks.
- Assist with order picking and stocking duties as needed, utilizing a forklift.
- Maintain an organized and clean work area, ensuring aisles and safety zones are clear.
- Perform routine checks on battery charging and changing procedures.
- Comply with all relevant regulations and company policies regarding warehouse operations and logistics.
- Accurately document activities, such as materials moved and inventory adjustments.
- Wear all required PPE, including safety shoes, high-visibility vests, and eye protection.
- Participate in safety training sessions to stay current on best practices for lifting and material handling.
- Report any unsafe conditions or potential hazards immediately to a supervisor.
Qualifications:
Must possess a valid forklift operator certification. Proven experience operating forklifts in a warehouse environment. Strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures and best practices. Ability to perform pre-operation inspections and basic maintenance checks on forklifts. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and meet productivity goals. Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally. Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness. Reliability and punctuality are essential. Knowledge of logistics and supply chain principles is beneficial. Commitment to wearing all required PPE at all times. Must be able to work flexible shifts and occasional overtime. Good communication skills.
Working Conditions:
This role requires working in a warehouse setting with exposure to noise and varying temperatures. Constant attention to safety is mandatory, and the use of appropriate PPE is required at all times. While the primary function is forklift operation, some manual lifting and movement of goods may be necessary. Understanding and implementing safe lifting techniques is important.
