We are looking for a detail-oriented Shipping Clerk to manage the outbound flow of products from our Jacksonville, Florida facility. This role is pivotal to our logistics operations, ensuring that all shipments are accurately documented, packed, and dispatched. You will be responsible for maintaining shipment records, coordinating with carriers, and ensuring compliance with shipping regulations. If you have excellent organizational skills and a commitment to accuracy, this position is for you.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and process shipping documentation, including bills of lading and manifests.
- Verify outgoing orders for accuracy in items, quantities, and destination addresses.
- Coordinate with shipping carriers for pick-up schedules and delivery confirmations.
- Pack items securely and appropriately for transit, ensuring product safety.
- Operate shipping software to generate labels and track shipments.
- Maintain accurate records of all outgoing shipments.
- Conduct regular inventory checks of shipping supplies and reorder as needed.
- Communicate effectively with internal departments and external partners.
- Adhere strictly to all safety regulations and company policies related to shipping and logistics.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a Shipping Clerk or in a related logistics or administrative role is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in using shipping software and standard office applications.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Good communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Familiarity with warehouse operations and shipping procedures.
Physical Requirements:
This role may involve occasional lifting of packages up to 30 pounds, standing for periods, and moving around the shipping area. Basic physical dexterity is required for handling paperwork and preparing packages. We promote safe practices for any lifting tasks.
Safety and PPE:
Your safety and the safety of our operations are paramount. While this role is primarily administrative, awareness of warehouse safety procedures is necessary. Appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) may be required when entering warehouse areas. Adherence to all safety guidelines is expected.
