Join our dynamic logistics team as a Shipping Clerk in Boston, Massachusetts. This role is essential for ensuring that all outgoing orders are accurately processed, packaged, and dispatched to customers on time. You will be responsible for preparing shipping documents, coordinating with carriers, and ensuring that packages meet all shipping requirements. A high level of accuracy, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety are crucial for success in this position. The ideal candidate will have experience in a shipping or logistics environment and possess excellent organizational skills. You will play a key part in maintaining customer satisfaction through efficient and error-free shipments.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and process shipping labels, bills of lading, and other shipping documentation.
- Verify order accuracy and ensure all items are correctly packed and labeled.
- Coordinate with various shipping carriers (e.g., FedEx, UPS, USPS, LTL) to schedule pickups and deliveries.
- Track shipments and provide updates to internal teams and, when necessary, to customers.
- Inspect outgoing packages for damage or potential issues before shipment.
- Maintain organized shipping areas and ensure compliance with all logistics procedures.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures, including the correct use of PPE.
- Assist with inventory checks and stock management as required.
- Operate basic warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks.
- Communicate effectively with warehouse staff, carriers, and other departments.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a shipping, receiving, or logistics role is required.
- Proficiency with shipping software and carrier portals.
- Ability to perform moderate lifting, up to 40 lbs.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and order verification.
- Understanding of shipping regulations and best practices.
- Knowledge of warehouse safety standards and the use of PPE.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
