We are looking for a skilled Material Handler to join our dynamic logistics team in Houston, Texas. This position is essential for managing the flow of materials within our busy warehouse facility. You will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement, storage, and organization of goods, ensuring that all operations run smoothly. Key duties include operating material handling equipment, loading and unloading shipments, and contributing to inventory accuracy. A strong commitment to safety, including the correct use of PPE, is paramount. The ideal candidate will have experience in a warehouse environment, possess excellent physical stamina, and be a team player dedicated to maintaining a high level of productivity and order. Your role supports the critical supply chain operations.
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse machinery.
- Transport materials to and from designated areas within the facility.
- Receive and verify incoming shipments, checking for damage or discrepancies.
- Load and unload delivery vehicles, ensuring cargo is secure.
- Organize and maintain inventory levels in an efficient manner.
- Perform regular equipment checks and report any maintenance needs.
- Adhere strictly to all safety guidelines and regulations, utilizing provided PPE.
- Assist in maintaining a clean and organized warehouse environment.
- Support other warehouse functions, such as order picking and packing, as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience operating material handling equipment is required.
- Ability to perform consistent heavy lifting, up to 60 lbs.
- Knowledge of warehouse safety best practices and procedures.
- Understanding of logistics and inventory management principles.
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
- Good communication skills and ability to work well with others.
