Join our team as a Shipping Clerk in Chicago, Illinois. In this critical role, you will be responsible for accurately preparing and processing outgoing shipments, ensuring that all orders are correctly documented, packaged, and dispatched. You will work closely with warehouse staff and carriers to maintain efficient Logistics operations. A strong focus on detail, organization, and Safety is essential. Responsibilities:
- Process all outgoing shipments, verifying order details and destination information.
- Prepare shipping labels, packing slips, and other required documentation.
- Package items securely and appropriately for transit, ensuring product protection.
- Coordinate with shipping carriers to schedule pickups and track shipments.
- Maintain accurate shipping records and update the shipping log.
- Ensure the shipping area is clean, organized, and compliant with all Safety regulations.
- Operate shipping equipment such as scales and box sealers.
- Communicate with internal departments to resolve any shipping discrepancies.
- Ensure proper handling procedures are followed, including safe Lifting practices.
- Must wear appropriate PPE.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in shipping, receiving, or a related administrative role in a warehouse or Logistics environment. Proficiency in using shipping software and carrier portals. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks. Physical ability to perform occasional Lifting of up to 30 lbs. Understanding of Shipping and receiving procedures and Logistics workflows. Punctual and reliable with a strong work ethic.
