We have an immediate opening for a skilled Forklift Operator in Madison, Wisconsin. This position is vital to the efficient and safe operation of our warehouse and logistics hub. As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for moving, stacking, and retrieving materials, loading and unloading trucks, and ensuring inventory is properly stored. A commitment to safety, proficiency in forklift operation, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment are essential. Your role directly contributes to the smooth flow of goods and overall operational success.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts safely and efficiently to move palletized goods throughout the warehouse.
- Load and unload trucks, trailers, and containers with accuracy and care.
- Perform routine checks on forklift equipment before and after shifts, reporting any issues.
- Maintain organized inventory storage, ensuring correct placement and accessibility.
- Assist with inventory cycle counts and verification processes.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures, including mandatory use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Follow established logistics workflows to ensure timely processing of materials.
- Assist with general warehouse tasks as needed to support team operations.
- Be prepared for duties that may include significant lifting, up to 50 lbs.
- Contribute to a positive and productive work environment.
Qualifications:
- Certified forklift operator with demonstrated experience.
- Proven ability to operate various types of forklifts safely and effectively.
- Thorough understanding of warehouse safety protocols and the correct use of PPE.
- Ability to work efficiently in a demanding logistics setting.
- Physical ability to perform tasks requiring lifting, maneuvering, and operating equipment.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with team members.
