We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking Material Handler to join our dynamic logistics team in Grand Rapids, Michigan. This role is crucial to our operations, ensuring the efficient movement and organization of materials within our warehouse. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Your primary responsibilities will include receiving, processing, and distributing materials according to established procedures. This position requires physical stamina and attention to detail to maintain inventory accuracy and ensure smooth warehouse operations.
Responsibilities:
- Loading and unloading of materials from trucks and other vehicles.
- Transporting materials to and from storage areas and production areas using forklifts, pallet jacks, or other equipment.
- Verifying material counts against shipping documents and reporting discrepancies.
- Properly storing materials to ensure accessibility and prevent damage.
- Assisting with inventory counts and maintaining accurate inventory records.
- Maintaining a clean and organized work area, adhering to all safety regulations.
- Operating material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Following all company policies and procedures, including those related to safety and security.
- Adhering to all mandated PPE requirements during shift.
- Ability to perform tasks involving significant Lifting of up to 50 lbs.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a warehouse or material handling role is preferred.
- Familiarity with warehouse operations and inventory management principles.
- Ability to operate material handling equipment.
- Strong understanding of safety protocols and commitment to workplace safety.
- Excellent physical condition, with the ability to perform manual labor and lifting.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong attendance record.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Must be able to wear required PPE at all times.
