We are seeking a highly detail-oriented Inventory Control Specialist to manage our warehouse inventory in Des Moines, Iowa. This critical role ensures the accuracy, integrity, and availability of our stock, directly impacting the efficiency of our logistics operations. You will be responsible for conducting thorough cycle counts, investigating and resolving discrepancies, and implementing effective inventory control procedures. Your proactive approach to maintaining precise records and minimizing stockouts or overages is vital. We emphasize a safe working environment and expect all team members to adhere to safety regulations and consistently wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). This position may involve occasional lifting and requires excellent organizational skills. Contribute to the success of our logistics team through your dedication to inventory accuracy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform regular cycle counts and physical inventory audits.
- Investigate and reconcile discrepancies between physical inventory and system records.
- Maintain the accuracy of inventory data within the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- Implement and enforce inventory control policies and procedures.
- Monitor stock levels, identify potential issues, and report findings.
- Process inventory adjustments and transfers.
- Identify and tag damaged, obsolete, or expired inventory for disposition.
- Assist in receiving and put-away processes to ensure proper stock location.
- Collaborate with warehouse staff to improve inventory accuracy.
- Ensure compliance with all safety standards related to inventory management and handling.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree or relevant certification preferred.
- Proven experience in inventory control, warehouse management, or a similar role.
- Proficiency with WMS software and Microsoft Excel is essential.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with logistics and supply chain principles.
- Must adhere to safety protocols and wear required PPE.
- Capability to perform tasks that may require moderate lifting.
