We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Inventory Control Specialist to join our dynamic logistics team in Portland, Oregon. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records, conducting regular cycle counts, investigating discrepancies, and implementing procedures to ensure inventory accuracy and efficiency. This role is crucial to our supply chain operations, ensuring that our warehouse functions smoothly and that products are readily available for our customers. You will work closely with warehouse associates, supervisors, and management to optimize inventory levels and minimize stockouts or overages. Your keen eye for detail and commitment to accuracy will be instrumental in supporting our overall operational goals.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventories to verify stock levels against system records.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies through root cause analysis.
- Implement and enforce inventory control policies and procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of all inventory movements, including receipts, transfers, and shipments.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance inventory accuracy and efficiency.
- Monitor inventory aging and identify slow-moving or obsolete stock.
- Ensure proper storage and handling of all inventory items, adhering to safety guidelines.
- Operate warehouse equipment safely and efficiently as needed.
- Collaborate with other departments, including receiving, shipping, and purchasing, to ensure seamless inventory flow.
- Train new team members on inventory control procedures.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree in a related field preferred.
- Proven experience in inventory control, warehouse management, or a similar role.
- Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Familiarity with warehouse operations and logistics.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
- Commitment to safety protocols and wearing required PPE.
