Our team is responsible for all aspects of user identity at Coinbase, including login, signup, OAuth, account security, and multi-factor authentication. The Horizontal Frontend team within the Identity organization builds and maintains the frontend interfaces that facilitate these essential user interactions, collaborating closely with backend teams to ensure seamless, scalable, and dependable user experiences. We are also focused on transitioning our main frontend views to React Native, unifying our codebase across platforms. Our initiatives include enhancing multi-user and multi-organization support to ensure Coinbase products meet business and organizational needs. The challenge lies in creating top-tier frontend experiences while ensuring low latency and high reliability, all while working across various cross-functional teams at scale. What You'll Be Doing: Develop and enhance frontend interfaces for login, signup, OAuth, account security, and multi-user/multi-organization support.
Contribute to the transition of main frontend views to React Native, ensuring a cohesive and efficient codebase across platforms.
Design and implement scalable, maintainable, and high-performance user interfaces leveraging modern frontend technologies like React and TypeScript.
Collaborate with backend engineers, designers, product managers, and senior leadership to bring product and technical strategies to life through clear roadmaps.
Ensure low-latency, highly reliable frontend interfaces to deliver an outstanding user experience.
Produce high-quality, well-tested code to accommodate our expanding user base.
What We Look For in You: A minimum of 5+ years of experience in frontend software engineering.
Proven experience in designing, building, scaling, and maintaining production-grade frontend systems.
Strong expertise in modern frontend frameworks like React and TypeScript.
Commitment to writing high-quality, thoroughly tested code for customer satisfaction.
A genuine passion for creating an open financial system that connects people globally.
Ability to responsibly utilize generative AI tools and copilots in your daily workflows, continuously adapt as technologies evolve, and apply human-in-the-loop practices to enhance efficiency and quality.
Nice to Haves: Experience with React Native or migrating web views to mobile platforms.
Experience in a rapidly growing company environment (e.g., transitioning from startup to mid-size).
Familiarity with authentication, identity, or security fields.
Expertise in optimizing frontend performance for low-latency, high-reliability systems.
Background in cryptocurrency, including experience with on-chain activities, Ethereum addresses, ENS, and blockchain-based services.
Job #: P74160 This position may require in-person attendance several times a year for team and company-wide offsites. We fully support your participation. Pay Transparency Notice: The annual base salary range for this position is $186,065 - $218,900 USD, excluding equity and bonus opportunities, plus benefits such as medical, dental, vision, and 401(k).
