$86,000 - $131,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and test embedded hardware and firmware for manufacturing equipment and automation systems. Integrate embedded systems with existing production lines, PLCs, sensors, and actuators. Troubleshoot and debug embedded systems issues on the factory floor, ensuring minimal downtime. Optimize embedded software for real-time performance, reliability, and efficiency in a production environment. Develop and maintain robust firmware for microcontrollers used in industrial control applications. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define system requirements and specifications for new manufacturing processes. Implement and maintain industrial communication protocols for data exchange between embedded devices and control systems. Recommended Qualifications
Proficiency in C/C++ for embedded software development. Hands-on experience with Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS) like FreeRTOS or VxWorks. Strong understanding of microcontroller architectures (e.g., ARM Cortex-M) and peripheral interfaces. Ability to read schematics, debug hardware, and use test equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers). Experience with industrial communication protocols such as CAN, Modbus, or Ethernet/IP. Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and software development lifecycle in manufacturing. Bonus Qualifications
Experience with industrial communication protocols (e.g., OPC UA, Modbus, EtherCAT). Familiarity with PLC programming or integration with industrial control systems. Knowledge of Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Testability (DFT). Experience with robotics, automation, or machine vision systems in a manufacturing context.
