Sobeys is full of exciting opportunities, and we are always looking for bright new talent to join our team! We currently have an opportunity for a manager to join our Enterprise Risk Management team.
Working closely with the Director and VP of ERM, you will be responsible to help lead and execute on a variety of high-impact and high-visibility risk engagements across the organization, delivering top-quality business-oriented solutions, and for building relationships with a variety of cross-functional stakeholders in critical and exciting operational and strategic areas.
**ROLE REQUIREMENTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
The role will support the development, execution and sustainment of the enterprise risk framework, identify and help the business respond to emerging trends, diving deep into key areas, and working with senior leaders to report on top-of-mind issues, and lead critical roadmap initiatives.
**Lead and execute risk management activities**
focusing on analyzing, communicating, and evaluating significant business risks. This will include preparing, and delivering materials related to risk assessments, monitoring, and developing insightful reporting to Management/Board, which identifies changes to organizational risk profile and major project initiatives.
**Work directly with key business stakeholders**
to produce and deliver engaging, insightful presentations and discussions which connect the dots in a simple and business-oriented way, capturing current and emerging risks, potential issues, opportunities, and mitigating activities.
**Lead risk monitoring protocols**
to evaluate if risk mitigation is effective and regularly follow up with risk owners to ensure timely and robust action plans
**Lead governance and oversight of Business Continuity Management program** , including working with plan owners to ensure materials are up to date and reflective of operating structure and critical processes
**Build and maintain strong relationships with internal/external partners**
and teammates to understand current and emerging challenges impacting our business and propose fresh ways to use this information to our competitive advantage, including Operation Audit, IT Audit and ICFR teams.
**Continuous improvement**
u2013 proactively recommend new ideas where processes/frameworks can be enhanced, leveraging data/tools to continuously add value or mitigate risk.
**EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS AND COMPETENCIES**
Bacheloru2019s degree in business or a related field. CRM, CFA, CPA, or MBA is a strong asset
8+ years of professional experience, with at least 5 years in management consulting, risk management, finance, business operations, or internal/external audit. Big 4 experience is considered an asset.
Strong understanding and working knowledge of risk management practices and application, including risk assessments, appetite, monitoring, and reporting including experience with TPRM and knowledge of risk frameworks is preferred
Superior communication skills, and a demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with executive stakeholders (both written and verbal)
Strong business acumen, with an ability to connect the dots between the business strategy, tactics, risks, and control environment, with significant exposure to risk/control mindset & frameworks
Proven problem-solver, with an innovative and entrepreneurial mindset
Self-starter with a strong work ethic and results-oriented mindset
Advanced working knowledge of data analysis tools such as Power BI or Tableau is a strong asset
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced Excel skills.
Bilingualism in English and French is an asset, as the role involves collaborating with peers in other provinces and supporting the development and implementation of tools and processes across Canada.
