We are looking for a skilled and safety-conscious Forklift Operator to join our dynamic warehouse team in Grand Rapids, Michigan. In this vital role, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently moving materials throughout our facility, loading and unloading trucks, and assisting with inventory management. Your proficiency with forklifts and commitment to operational excellence are essential to our logistics success. This is an excellent opportunity to utilize your specialized skills in a supportive environment that prioritizes your well-being. You will be provided with comprehensive Safety training and all necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). The role involves significant physical tasks including frequent Lifting and operating heavy machinery. Become a key member of our logistics operations and contribute to a smooth and efficient workflow.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts (e.g., sit-down, stand-up, reach truck) to move, stack, and retrieve inventory.
- Load and unload trucks efficiently and safely.
- Transport materials to and from designated areas within the warehouse.
- Perform pre-operation checks on forklifts to ensure they are in good working order.
- Maintain an organized and clean work area, adhering to all Safety regulations.
- Assist with inventory counts and stock placement.
- Identify and report any damaged goods or equipment malfunctions.
- Follow all company policies and procedures related to warehouse operations and Safety.
- Wear all required PPE at all times.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid forklift operator certification or proven experience.
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience operating forklifts in a warehouse environment.
- Proficiency in operating various types of forklifts.
- Knowledge of warehouse Safety procedures and best practices.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including moderate Lifting up to 50 pounds, when necessary.
- Strong attention to detail and hand-eye coordination.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Understanding of basic logistics principles.
