Our Indianapolis, Indiana location is seeking a skilled Forklift Operator to join our dedicated logistics team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating forklifts and other powered industrial vehicles to move, stack, and transport materials throughout our warehouse. Your expertise ensures the smooth operation of our receiving, storage, and shipping processes. We prioritize a secure and accident-free work environment, making strict adherence to all Safety regulations and the proper use of PPE essential. This position requires excellent attention to detail, good judgment, and the ability to operate equipment with precision. You will collaborate with warehouse staff to maintain inventory accuracy, optimize space utilization, and contribute to overall operational efficiency. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts and other powered industrial trucks safely and proficiently.
- Load and unload materials from trucks, trailers, and other conveyances.
- Move inventory to and from designated storage areas.
- Stack and arrange materials in a neat and organized manner.
- Perform daily inspections of forklifts and report any maintenance needs.
- Follow all Safety procedures and guidelines, including wearing appropriate PPE.
- Assist with inventory counts and cycle counts as directed.
- Maintain a clean and orderly workspace to ensure Safety and efficiency.
- Read and understand work orders and shipping documents.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to achieve daily logistics goals.
- Participate in Safety training and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Valid forklift operator certification or license.
- Proven experience operating various types of forklifts in a warehouse setting.
- Solid understanding of warehouse Safety practices and material handling procedures.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including occasional Lifting of up to 60 pounds.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Ability to read and follow instructions precisely.
- Strong commitment to Safety and accident prevention.
- Reliable and punctual with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including occasional overtime if needed.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems is a plus.
