SUMMARY : The Analytics Application Developer Intern is responsible for working alongside the Data and Analytics team to design and develop interactive dashboard applications that support manufacturing operations decision-making. This role offers an opportunity to develop skills in Python application development, data visualization, user interface design, and translating business requirements into functional analytics solutions while contributing to the Manufacturing Health Dashboard project.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Design and develop interactive dashboard applications using Python frameworks within the Databricks environment. Create role-based dashboard views tailored to different persona needs (executive, scheduler, customer service, etc.). Build data visualizations and interactive components that effectively communicate manufacturing operations insights. Implement drill-down functionality from summary-level metrics to detailed operational data. Apply basic UI/UX principles to create clean, usable interfaces for internal operational dashboards. Collaborate with the Data Engineering Intern to connect dashboard applications to Gold layer data sources. Work with business users to gather requirements, understand decision-making workflows, and validate dashboard functionality. Optimize application performance and responsiveness for end-user experience. Document application architecture, code structure, and user guides for long-term maintainability. Participate in user acceptance testing, incorporate feedback, and refine dashboard features. Other duties as assigned. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This role does not have personnel supervisory responsibilities; however, this role includes working with cross-functional teams in a matrixed organization.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE / CERTIFICATIONS :
Currently pursuing or having completed Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field. Experience with Python programming required. Experience with Python dashboard or web application frameworks (Streamlit, Dash, Flask, or similar) preferred. Experience with data visualization libraries (Plotly, Matplotlib, or similar) preferred. Familiarity with SQL for data querying preferred. Experience with Databricks or similar cloud data platforms preferred. Understanding of basic UI/UX principles for creating usable internal applications preferred. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED:

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT : While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; stand; walk; use hand dexterity to operate office equipment including computer keyboards; reach with hands and arms; and talk and hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the office work environment is typically quiet; when visiting the production floor the noise level may be loud.
