Our client is looking for a Analytics Engineer
Data Engineering & Architecture
Design, build, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines to ingest, transform, and load data from Azure SQL, ERP systems (SAP, Sage), marketing platforms, web analytics, and other sources. Own and evolve the enterprise data model to support changing business needs, continuously modeling and integrating new data sources. Manage and optimize the enterprise data warehouse (Snowflake or equivalent), ensuring performance, scalability, and reliability. Develop reusable data transformation logic using SQL and Python while enforcing strong data quality standards. Lead integration of newly acquired business data into the enterprise data environment.
Business Intelligence & Reporting
Design and deliver dashboards and self-service reporting solutions (Power BI preferred). Partner cross-functionally with finance, operations, marketing, customer service, and e-commerce teams to translate business needs into scalable data solutions. Define and standardize KPIs (margin, CAC, customer metrics, manufacturing metrics, etc.) and build data models that enable fast, accurate analysis. Train and support business users on reporting tools and best practices.
Data Governance & Operations
Establish and enforce data governance standards including data classification, quality, security, compliance, version control, and documentation. Monitor pipeline performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure timely and accurate data delivery. Collaborate with leadership to align on priorities, processes, and development roadmaps.
Advanced Analytics & AI
Develop descriptive and predictive analytics solutions (pricing, forecasting, customer segmentation). Integrate AI/ML models, generative AI, and automation into data workflows to enhance insights and efficiency. Identify and deliver advanced analytics use cases such as search optimization, attribution modeling, and recommendation engines, partnering with third parties as needed. Collaborate with product and customer service teams on AI-driven automation initiatives.
Portfolio & Prioritization Management (PMO Light)
Establish a lightweight PMO framework to intake, prioritize, and track analytics and data initiatives. Maintain and manage the data and analytics roadmap aligned with business strategy. Coordinate cross-functional execution, manage dependencies, and communicate timelines and progress. Ensure consistency, documentation, and adoption of delivered data products. Lead data integration efforts for newly acquired businesses.
Required Qualifications
5 8+ years of experience in BI, data engineering, or analytics engineering. Deep expertise in Microsoft SQL (Azure SQL preferred). Strong experience building data pipelines using SQL, Python, or ETL tools. Hands-on experience with data modeling tools (dbt, SQLMesh, Coalesce). Proficiency in Power BI, Tableau, or similar BI tools. Experience with modern data warehouses (Snowflake, Azure Synapse, BigQuery) and dimensional modeling concepts (facts, dimensions, star schema). Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure preferred) and modern data stack tools (Fivetran, Stitch). Experience working with complex, disparate, or unstructured data sources.
