We are seeking a meticulous and diligent Receiving Clerk to join our growing logistics team in Minneapolis, Minnesota. In this role, you will be instrumental in managing the inflow of goods into our distribution center, ensuring accuracy and efficiency from the moment a shipment arrives. Your core duties will include unloading incoming trucks, meticulously inspecting products for damage or discrepancies, and accurately documenting all received items against purchase orders and manifests. This position requires a high degree of organizational skill and attention to detail, as you will be responsible for maintaining the integrity of our inventory records. Proficiency with computer systems for data entry is essential. Safety is our top priority; therefore, adherence to all established safety protocols and the correct utilization of personal protective equipment (PPE) is mandatory. The role involves regular lifting and moving of packages, so a good level of physical fitness is necessary. You will collaborate closely with various warehouse departments, including order fulfillment and inventory control, to ensure a seamless flow of operations. The ideal candidate is a reliable and proactive individual with a strong work ethic and excellent communication skills. Responsibilities:
- Receive and unload incoming shipments from various carriers.
- Inspect goods for any damage, defects, or discrepancies against purchase orders.
- Accurately record received inventory data into the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- Tag and stage incoming products for internal movement or storage.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe receiving area.
- Report any receiving discrepancies or issues to the Warehouse Manager immediately.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures, including the mandatory use of PPE.
- Assist with physical inventory counts and cycle counting as required.
- Communicate effectively with suppliers, drivers, and internal departments.
- Understand and apply basic logistics principles to optimize receiving processes.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Prior experience in a warehouse receiving or logistics role is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to perform manual tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Basic computer literacy and experience with data entry.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of warehouse safety practices and the importance of PPE.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
- Dependability and a strong sense of responsibility.
