Join our dynamic team as a Shipping Clerk in Columbus, Ohio! In this essential role, you will be responsible for managing the accurate and timely processing of all outgoing shipments. You will work within our logistics department, ensuring that products are correctly identified, packaged, and documented for transit. This position requires excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to upholding our company’s high standards for customer service and operational efficiency. You will interact with various carriers, maintain shipping records, and assist in coordinating the movement of goods. Safety is a top priority, and all personnel are required to follow strict safety protocols, including the use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). The role involves some Lifting and requires the ability to stand for extended periods. We are looking for a reliable and proactive individual who can thrive in a fast-paced warehouse environment. Your contributions are vital to ensuring our products reach their destinations safely and on schedule, playing a key part in our overall logistics success.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and process shipping documentation, including bills of lading and manifests.
- Verify order accuracy and ensure all items are accounted for before shipment.
- Package goods securely for transport, selecting appropriate shipping materials.
- Operate shipping software to generate labels and track shipments.
- Coordinate with shipping carriers for pick-ups and deliveries.
- Maintain organized shipping logs and records.
- Communicate with internal departments regarding shipment status.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and utilize required PPE.
- Employ safe Lifting practices when handling packages.
- Support the efficient flow of goods within the warehouse logistics system.
