We are looking for an organized and experienced Warehouse Coordinator to manage our Des Moines, Iowa distribution center. In this critical role, you will oversee daily warehouse operations, ensuring efficiency and accuracy in all logistics processes. Your responsibilities will include managing inventory levels, coordinating shipping and receiving activities, supervising warehouse staff, and implementing operational improvements. This position requires strong leadership skills, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a comprehensive understanding of warehouse management systems and safety protocols. You will play a key role in optimizing our supply chain and ensuring the timely delivery of goods. A strong focus on safety, including the correct use of PPE, is paramount. We are committed to fostering a productive and secure work environment for our entire team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate daily warehouse activities, including shipping, receiving, and inventory management.
- Develop and implement efficient warehouse strategies and procedures.
- Manage inventory control to ensure accuracy and minimize discrepancies.
- Train and mentor warehouse staff, ensuring adherence to safety standards and operational procedures.
- Monitor equipment maintenance and ensure a safe working environment.
- Coordinate with transportation providers to schedule inbound and outbound shipments.
- Maintain accurate records and generate reports on warehouse performance.
- Enforce all safety regulations, including the proper use of PPE, and conduct regular safety audits.
- Optimize space utilization and workflow within the warehouse.
- Assist with budget management and cost control for warehouse operations.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Warehouse Coordinator or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse management software and logistics principles.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to analyze data and implement process improvements.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices, including PPE requirements.
- Ability to perform physical tasks as needed, including occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.
- High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree in Logistics or Supply Chain Management is a plus.
- Problem-solving aptitude and decision-making skills.
