We are hiring Picker/Packers for our busy warehouse in Des Moines, Iowa. This vital role involves accurately selecting customer orders and preparing them for shipment. You will be instrumental in ensuring that our customers receive their correct items quickly and efficiently. The ideal candidate is energetic, has a strong attention to detail, and can work effectively in a fast-paced logistics environment. Safety is paramount, and all team members are expected to adhere to strict safety guidelines and utilize provided PPE. Experience with RF scanners and order picking is beneficial.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately pick products from warehouse shelves based on order lists or RF scanner data.
- Verify picked items against order specifications to ensure accuracy.
- Pack items securely and efficiently into appropriate shipping containers, using correct packaging materials.
- Label packages accurately with shipping information.
- Conduct quality checks on products and packaging before shipment.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including safe lifting practices and the proper use of PPE.
- Meet established picking and packing productivity goals.
- Assist with inventory counts as needed.
- Operate basic warehouse equipment safely.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience as a picker, packer, or in a warehouse setting is advantageous.
- Ability to read and interpret order forms and product labels.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 35 lbs.
- Understanding of warehouse safety procedures and the importance of PPE.
- Good teamwork and communication skills.
- Reliability and a strong work ethic.
