Join our bustling logistics hub as a Shipping Clerk in Minneapolis, Minnesota! We are looking for an energetic and organized individual to manage the outbound flow of goods, ensuring timely and accurate shipments. This role is essential for customer satisfaction and operational excellence. You will be responsible for preparing shipping documentation, coordinating with carriers, and ensuring all packages are correctly labeled and dispatched. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, possesses excellent communication skills, and is committed to upholding high standards of safety and efficiency. Previous experience in shipping, logistics, or a similar role is a plus.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and process shipping orders and documentation accurately.
- Schedule and coordinate pickups with various shipping carriers (e.g., FedEx, UPS, LTL).
- Verify outbound shipments for accuracy in items, quantities, and destinations.
- Ensure all packages are properly packed, labeled, and ready for transit according to carrier requirements.
- Operate shipping equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts (if certified) safely.
- Maintain a clean and organized shipping dock area.
- Communicate effectively with internal departments (e.g., receiving, inventory) and external carriers.
- Adhere strictly to all safety regulations, including the proper use of PPE and safe lifting techniques.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any shipping-related issues or delays promptly.
- Track shipments and provide updates to relevant stakeholders as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience in a shipping or logistics role preferred.
- Proficiency with shipping software and basic computer skills.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Ability to handle physical tasks, including lifting up to 40 lbs.
- Understanding of shipping regulations and documentation.
- Commitment to workplace safety and the appropriate use of PPE.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
