We are seeking a dedicated Shipping & Receiving Associate for our bustling Chicago, Illinois facility. In this essential role, you will manage the inflow and outflow of goods, ensuring that all shipments are received accurately and dispatched efficiently. Responsibilities include unloading incoming trucks, verifying contents against purchase orders, stocking received items, and preparing outgoing orders for shipment. You'll coordinate with carriers, maintain accurate records, and ensure the warehouse remains organized and safe. A strong commitment to Safety and the correct use of PPE is mandatory, as is the ability to perform tasks involving regular Lifting . This position is crucial to our overall Logistics operations, requiring attention to detail and the ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment. Responsibilities:
- Unload incoming shipments and verify contents against purchase orders or invoices.
- Inspect goods for damage and report any discrepancies or issues.
- Stock received items in designated warehouse locations.
- Pick, pack, and prepare outgoing orders for shipment.
- Coordinate with freight carriers for pickup and delivery schedules.
- Maintain accurate shipping and receiving records, updating inventory systems.
- Ensure that all shipments are properly labeled and documented.
- Adhere to all company Safety policies and procedures, including the mandatory use of PPE .
- Perform tasks involving Lifting of boxes and pallets, using appropriate techniques.
- Contribute to the efficiency and organization of the warehouse, supporting overall Logistics .
- Keep the shipping and receiving areas clean and orderly.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse operations.
- Familiarity with shipping documentation (e.g., bills of lading, packing lists).
- Proficiency in using hand-held scanners and basic computer systems.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including frequent Lifting of up to 50 lbs.
- Commitment to workplace Safety and the proper use of PPE .
- Understanding of warehouse operations and Logistics flow.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Team player with good communication skills.
