We are hiring experienced Forklift Operators for our distribution center in St. Louis, Missouri. This role is crucial for the efficient movement of materials within our warehouse. You will be responsible for operating forklifts to load, unload, transport, and stack materials. A strong understanding of warehouse operations and a commitment to Safety are essential. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of safe operation and efficiency. We maintain a strict adherence to Safety protocols and expect all team members to utilize required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Your role is vital to our overall logistics chain.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts (sit-down, stand-up, reach trucks) safely and efficiently to move inventory.
- Load and unload materials from trucks and trailers.
- Transport materials to and from designated storage areas within the warehouse.
- Stack and organize materials in racks and other storage locations.
- Conduct pre-operation inspections of forklifts and report any issues immediately.
- Follow all warehouse safety procedures and guidelines, including maintaining clear pathways and proper stacking techniques.
- Adhere to all requirements for Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), ensuring proper use at all times.
- Assist with inventory management tasks, including cycle counts and stock placement.
- Support general warehouse operations and contribute to team goals.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work environment to promote Safety and efficiency in our logistics operations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Valid forklift operator certification or demonstrable experience operating various types of forklifts.
- Proven experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or distribution center environment.
- Solid understanding of warehouse operations and logistics.
- Excellent knowledge of forklift Safety procedures and best practices.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including occasional Lifting of up to 50 lbs.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
- Must be reliable and punctual.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Commitment to wearing required PPE and maintaining a Safe workspace.
