We are seeking an experienced Material Handler to join our logistics team in Portland, Oregon. In this role, you will be responsible for the efficient and safe movement of materials throughout our warehouse facility. Your primary duties will involve using various equipment to transport, load, and unload goods, ensuring accurate inventory placement. Safety is our top priority, and adherence to all safety procedures, including the correct use of PPE, is mandatory. This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a dynamic logistics operation.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment to move materials safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload trucks, trailers, and containers with incoming and outgoing goods.
- Transport materials to and from production areas, storage locations, and shipping docks.
- Receive, identify, and sort incoming materials, verifying against documentation.
- Stack, palletize, and shrink-wrap goods for safe storage and transport.
- Perform routine inspections of material handling equipment and report any issues.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with all regulations.
- Assist with inventory control activities, including cycle counts and stock checks.
- Follow all safety protocols, including proper lifting techniques and the mandatory use of PPE.
- Contribute to team efforts and support overall warehouse operational goals within the logistics framework.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role.
- Proven ability to operate various types of material handling equipment.
- Knowledge of warehouse safety procedures and best practices for logistics.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting, up to 50 pounds, regularly.
- Strong understanding of inventory management principles.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must be able to wear and utilize all required PPE.
