We are looking for an experienced Inventory Control Specialist to join our team in Grand Rapids, Michigan. This critical role ensures the accuracy, integrity, and efficiency of our warehouse inventory. You will be responsible for conducting regular cycle counts, investigating and resolving inventory discrepancies, managing stock rotation, and maintaining precise inventory records within our Warehouse Management System (WMS). Your efforts directly support our logistics operations by ensuring product availability, minimizing stockouts, and reducing errors in order fulfillment. The ideal candidate possesses strong analytical skills, meticulous attention to detail, and a thorough understanding of inventory control best practices. You will work collaboratively with warehouse supervisors and associates to implement and uphold inventory control policies. We are committed to a safe working environment, requiring strict adherence to all PPE guidelines and warehouse Safety protocols. This position may involve tasks that require moderate Lifting . Your expertise is vital to our supply chain's success, contributing to the overall efficiency and reliability of our Logistics network. Key Responsibilities:
- Perform daily cycle counts and periodic physical inventories.
- Investigate root causes of inventory discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure accuracy of inventory data within the WMS.
- Monitor stock levels, identify slow-moving items, and assist with replenishment strategies.
- Implement and enforce inventory control procedures.
- Coordinate with receiving and shipping departments to reconcile inventory movements.
- Generate and analyze inventory reports.
- Adhere to all company Safety policies and procedures.
- Wear required PPE , such as safety glasses and gloves.
- Perform tasks that may involve occasional Lifting of inventory items up to 40 pounds.
- Support the efficient flow of our Logistics operations through accurate inventory management.
Qualifications:
Proven experience in inventory control or warehouse management. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Proficiency in WMS and inventory software; advanced Excel skills. Knowledge of warehouse operations and Logistics principles. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Capacity for occasional Lifting up to 40 pounds. Commitment to workplace Safety and proper use of PPE . High school diploma or GED required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field is a plus.
