As a
Sales Ledger Clerk , you will play a key role in our finance team, ensuring accurate and efficient sales ledger management, credit control, and customer account administration.

Key Responsibilities:
Customer Management
Setting up new customer accounts and maintaining existing account details, including VAT compliance.
Building and managing relationships with key customers.
Managing and maintaining credit limits for customers.
Sales Order Management
Ensuring the accurate processing of customer orders and price validation.
Data entry into Sage accounting software.
Dispatch Documentation
Receiving and confirming dispatch information.
Preparing and managing delivery notes.
Creating CMRs (standard contracts for international road transport) for EU sales.
Invoicing and Accounts Receivable
Taking full oversight and management of the sales ledger.
Processing invoices and credit notes.
Handling email and telephone queries.
Reconciling customer accounts.
Credit Control
Managing credit applications and limits.
Overseeing debt recovery.
Month-End and Reporting
Supporting finance team members and working across different business functions.
Providing cover for the purchase ledger when required.
Assisting in company-wide projects and new initiatives.
Delivering excellent customer service to both internal and external stakeholders, including direct collaboration with company owners and directors.
What Were Looking For:
Strong experience
in a sales ledger role, with knowledge of internal accounting functions and credit control.
Proficiency in Sage 50 and Excel
(internal training available).
Experience in high-volume invoice processing.
Familiarity with credit insurance, invoice discounting, or factoring
(preferred but not essential).
Understanding of VAT and foreign currency transactions.
Minimum of 5 GCSEs (A-C), including Maths and English, or equivalent.
FMCG industry experience
is an advantage.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work independently while also thriving in a team environment.
Strong communication skills
across all business functions.
Proactive mindset
to improve efficiencies and problem-solve effectively.
