As a Lead Machine Learning Engineer within the Embodied AI organization, you will play a key role in developing innovative end-to-end machine learning solutions that directly influence the performance of autonomous driving systems. You will be responsible for designing, architecting, and deploying advanced ML models that turn raw sensor data into actionable driving behaviors, allowing vehicles to confidently navigate complex environments. Your leadership will drive critical technical initiatives, foster collaboration among cross-functional teams, mentor fellow ML engineers, and shape the next generation of onboard ML capabilities. The Embodied AI team is at the cutting-edge of creating groundbreaking ML systems for fully autonomous vehicles. We utilize modern, end-to-end machine learning approaches with advanced neural networks trained on large datasets of driving scenarios and employ the latest alignment techniques. Our solutions empower vehicles to comprehend intricate, dynamic driving conditions, manage uncertainties effectively, and adjust smoothly to varied circumstances. Collaborate with us in redefining autonomy through innovative machine learning, delivering forward-thinking solutions that surpass existing technology barriers. Key Responsibilities: Lead the design, development, and deployment of advanced onboard ML models, offering solutions that ensure real-time inference and superior autonomous driving performance. Architect and oversee complex machine learning projects from conception to validation and production, focusing on scalability, robustness, and safety-critical applications. Promote innovative neural network architectures, training methods, and optimization strategies suitable for real-time implementation. Mentor and guide other engineers to enhance engineering practices and spur ML innovation across teams. Collaborate with diverse engineering disciplines to ensure cohesive integration of ML capabilities into autonomous vehicle technologies. Influence and shape technical roadmaps, aligning strategic ML priorities with organizational goals and product timelines. Your Skills & Abilities: Advanced degree (Master's or Ph.D.) in Machine Learning, Robotics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field. Over 8 years of experience in modern machine learning techniques. Proficient in developing and deploying advanced ML systems, specifically for real-time onboard applications. Demonstrated expertise in creating robust deep learning models that accurately translate sensor data into actionable insights in safety-critical scenarios. In-depth knowledge of cutting-edge computer vision techniques, neural networks, representation learning, real-time inference, model optimization, and robustness under uncertainty. Strong proficiency in software development, particularly with Python and C++, plus practical experience with modern ML frameworks like PyTorch, TensorFlow, and JAX. Excellent communication and collaborative skills, with the capacity to influence technical strategy and mentor teams towards ML engineering excellence. Bonus: Experience in Autonomous Vehicles (AV) or Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) is highly desirable. Compensation:
The compensation for this role is a good faith estimate based on what a successful applicant might receive in accordance with applicable state laws. The salary range is $259,000 to $396,700. The actual offer will vary according to relevant factors. Hybrid Work Environment:
This position allows for a hybrid work arrangement, with expectations to report to the Sunnyvale or Mountain View Technical Center in the Bay Area at least three times a week. Benefits:
