Job Summary:
We are looking for a meticulous and organized Inventory Control Specialist to join our team in Madison, Wisconsin. This role is vital to maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our warehouse inventory. As an Inventory Control Specialist, you will be responsible for monitoring stock levels, conducting cycle counts, investigating discrepancies, and implementing procedures to ensure optimal inventory management. Your analytical skills and attention to detail will be crucial in minimizing losses, improving efficiency, and supporting our overall logistics operations. You will work closely with warehouse staff and management to achieve inventory accuracy goals.
Responsibilities:
  • Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventories to verify stock levels.
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, identifying root causes.
  • Implement and maintain inventory control procedures and best practices.
  • Monitor inventory accuracy and report on key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) and other software to track inventory.
  • Process inventory adjustments, receipts, and shipments accurately.
  • Ensure proper storage and organization of inventory to prevent damage or loss.
  • Collaborate with warehouse operations to support efficient material flow.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and wear appropriate PPE.
  • Assist with physical inventory tasks, which may involve lifting.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  • Proven experience in inventory control, warehouse management, or a similar role.
  • Proficiency in using WMS and inventory management software.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Must be able to perform tasks involving moderate physical exertion and occasional lifting.
  • Commitment to safety protocols and proper handling of materials.
