We are seeking a dedicated and efficient Picker/Packer to join our dynamic logistics team in Grand Rapids, Michigan. This role is crucial to our daily operations, ensuring that customer orders are accurately and efficiently fulfilled. As a Picker/Packer, you will be responsible for retrieving items from warehouse shelves, carefully inspecting them for quality, and preparing them for shipment. This involves accurately reading order slips, utilizing handheld scanners, and applying appropriate packaging materials to protect goods during transit. You will work closely with other warehouse staff to maintain a smooth workflow and contribute to overall team success. This position requires a keen eye for detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of accuracy and efficiency. Responsibilities:
- Accurately pick and pack customer orders according to specified requirements.
- Utilize RF scanners to track inventory and order status.
- Inspect items for damage or defects before packing.
- Select appropriate packaging materials and ensure items are securely packed.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Assist with inventory counts and stock rotation as needed.
- Meet or exceed daily productivity targets.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding order fulfillment and potential issues.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a warehouse or order fulfillment environment is preferred.
- Ability to read and understand order picking lists and shipping labels.
- Proficiency in using RF scanners.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physical stamina and ability to perform tasks requiring frequent standing, walking, bending, and occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs.
- Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to all guidelines.
