We are hiring an Order Picker for our San Jose, California facility. This role is critical to fulfilling customer orders accurately and efficiently, forming a key part of our logistics chain. The Order Picker will be responsible for accurately retrieving items from warehouse shelves according to specified orders. This position requires a keen eye for detail, speed, and accuracy to ensure that correct products are picked and prepared for shipment. You will work closely with other warehouse staff to maintain smooth operations and meet delivery schedules. Success in this role depends on your ability to work efficiently, maintain organization, and adhere to strict safety protocols, including the appropriate use of PPE. This is a fast-paced environment where attention to detail is highly valued.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately pick items from warehouse shelves based on pick lists or electronic scanners.
- Verify picked items against order details to ensure accuracy.
- Stage picked items in the designated packing or shipping area.
- Operate order picking equipment, such as pallet jacks or lifts, safely and efficiently.
- Maintain organization and cleanliness of assigned picking zones.
- Assist with inventory counts and stocktaking as required.
- Report any discrepancies or damages to supervisors immediately.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including wearing required PPE.
- Collaborate with packers and shippers to ensure timely order fulfillment.
- Contribute to the overall efficiency and productivity of the logistics department.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as an Order Picker or in a warehouse setting is preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret pick lists and labels accurately.
- Proficiency in using scanning equipment.
- Experience with manual lifting, and ability to lift up to 50 lbs repetitively.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.
- Must be reliable and punctual.
- Understanding of warehouse safety procedures.
