Join our vibrant logistics team in Portland, Oregon, as an Order Picker! This role is fundamental to our success, ensuring that customer orders are accurately and efficiently fulfilled. As an Order Picker, you will be responsible for locating and retrieving items from warehouse shelves, preparing them for packing and shipment. The ideal candidate is energetic, has a sharp eye for detail, and excels in a fast-paced environment. A strong commitment to safety, including the proper use of PPE, is essential. Previous experience with RF scanners and order picking systems is a plus.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately pick products from warehouse locations based on order sheets or RF scanner prompts.
- Verify the correct item numbers and quantities for each order.
- Transport picked items to the packing or staging area.
- Maintain the organization and cleanliness of picking areas and equipment.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures, including safe lifting practices and the mandatory use of PPE.
- Meet established picking accuracy and productivity targets.
- Assist with inventory checks and cycle counts as needed.
- Operate basic warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks safely.
- Communicate any issues or discrepancies with orders or inventory to supervisors.
- Contribute to a positive and collaborative team environment within the logistics department.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience in order picking or warehouse operations is advantageous.
- Ability to read and interpret order forms and product labels accurately.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Must be able to perform physical tasks, including walking, standing, bending, and lifting up to 30 lbs.
- Understanding of warehouse safety rules and the importance of PPE.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a team.
- Reliability and a strong work ethic are essential.
