We are seeking a skilled Forklift Operator to join our dynamic logistics team in Virginia Beach, Virginia. This position is critical for the efficient movement of goods within our warehouse, ensuring safe and timely handling of materials. The Forklift Operator will be responsible for operating various types of forklifts to load, unload, transport, and stack materials. The ideal candidate possesses a valid forklift certification, a strong commitment to safety, and experience in a fast-paced warehouse environment. We expect all team members to adhere to rigorous safety standards and utilize appropriate PPE.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts (e.g., sit-down, stand-up, reach truck) safely and efficiently to move materials throughout the warehouse.
- Load and unload trucks and trailers with incoming and outgoing inventory.
- Transport materials to and from storage areas, production lines, and shipping docks.
- Stack and organize materials in designated locations, ensuring proper placement and stability.
- Perform pre-operation inspections on forklifts and report any maintenance issues immediately.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures, including safe operating practices and the mandatory use of PPE.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work environment.
- Assist with inventory management, including cycle counts and put-away processes.
- Support receiving and shipping operations as directed, contributing to overall logistics efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with all traffic and safety regulations within the warehouse.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid forklift operator certification and proven experience.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or logistics setting.
- Knowledge of warehouse safety procedures and best practices.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs when necessary.
- Strong attention to detail and good hand-eye coordination.
- Commitment to workplace safety and the proper use of PPE.
- Good communication skills and the ability to follow instructions.
