We are hiring a Material Handler for our facility in Richmond, Virginia. This role is critical for ensuring the smooth and safe movement of goods throughout our warehouse. You will be responsible for operating forklifts and other equipment to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise. Efficient material handling is key to our logistics operations. We are dedicated to providing a safe working environment and supply all necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). This position involves significant physical activity, including heavy lifting and maneuvering of materials. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload materials from trucks and into warehouse storage areas.
- Transport materials between different departments or storage locations within the warehouse.
- Verify counts of incoming and outgoing materials.
- Stack and arrange materials according to established procedures.
- Conduct routine checks on equipment to ensure safe operation.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area, adhering to all safety regulations.
- Follow company policies regarding safety and the use of PPE.
- Assist with inventory management and cycle counts.
- Support the broader logistics and supply chain functions of the company.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a Material Handler or Forklift Operator.
- Valid forklift operator certification required.
- Knowledge of proper material handling techniques and safety procedures.
- Ability to perform strenuous physical tasks, including lifting up to 70 lbs.
- Familiarity with warehouse safety protocols and the mandatory use of PPE.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
- Understanding of logistics operations is advantageous.
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
